Camel coats mean business, briefcases, flagging down taxis and having important lunch dates, none of which actually fit with anything I do but the illusion is rewarding nonetheless.

Also, whenever I think of camel I think of toe. In fact, Alasdair knows of a girl who has camel tattooed on both of her large toes. However amusing that is, I'd rather stick with the business imagery.

Blistering, billowing winds and lots of rain have been the weather situation for the last week so wrapping up in my men's camel coat is the reality and the illusion of business lunches is yet to materialise.

The combination of contrasting silhouettes - a stiletto heel and a very boxy coat can have such a strong impact. I could be naked underneath for all it mattered. In fact this coat has always been representative of a glamorous version of the walk of shame to me. It's that men's coat you would wear on you way home with nothing underneath after not having spent the night in your own bed. With tousled hair, a cigarette and these heels – there must be a French film with that scene.

Roses in winter: only available as graffiti and a perfect background for my wine red, velvet Docs. These Doc Martens are a true saviour when the snow starts piling up and you have lots of Glühwein calling your name, which means spending several hours at the Christmas markets. Apologies for the leather overload as of late but it's keeping me so wonderfully toasty. Today I'm styling a shoot for Agency V that I've been excited about since I first picked out the outfits. I cannot wait to share the results with you!

Navy blue, heavy knits and leather are currently on heavy rotation, preferrably oversized (what a surprise). My hair is now back to its uncouth ways. I might sneak in a sleek little number on the off-chance I have an hour to blowdry it.

Now to more important things - the bouts of true depression that can result thanks to fashion. You can't imagine how my emotions went into hyperdrive after missing out on this tent coat on the day of the collection launch. When it appeared in the online store a week later, I immediately clicked it home and thought of all the forts I would be able to construct. I think I'm nearing the ability of wearing a different coat every day for month, which has led me to sensibly put myself on a self-imposed ban. With that in mind I will revel in the purchase of this perfection of a pea coat even more. With Christmas markets having sprouted like mushrooms across Berlin, my Christmas spirit is in full swing, fuelled by the swigs of Glühwein I'm having after work.

"Ahoi matey!" is most likely one of the most common phrases shouted by the original pea-coat wearing, seafaring men. I'd like to think they look something akin to Popeye, are devout spinach consumers and enjoy the occasional puff on their trusty pipes.

The blue pea coat was and still is the outdoor clothing worn by navy sailors, and although I love spinach, I don't think I'd fare very well on the seven seas - I'm not really the manual labour type. I would like to think I'm pulling off this classic piece by Aspesi quite well in an undeniably classic way with, of course, a strong Sophia-specific dose of modern quirkyness (queue the face shoes and giant candy bag). Yes, I went to the hairdresser this weekend and it took an hour to force my mane to submit to such sleekness.
