Where's the You in Trend

Outfits

There's a hurricane warning out for the North of Germany and I'm having my Dorothy moment today in this blush, tartan and white leather combo. Paint splash snake pumps add that extra factor of surprise to an outfit that would otherwise be too trendy for my liking. I can't stand it when a certain outfit can immediately be pigeonholed and "ticks" all those boxes that make it en vogue and in my book pretty damn boring. It's quite a feat when certain items become the token piece of a trend but you still manage to give them that refreshing twist of originality. Let's hope I managed to do that and broke away from those damn subliminal chains that trends put us all in. Having escaped a glossy lacks personal touch and what's the point in getting dressed if you don't incorporate some you? Know what I mean?

I am wearing thesupertrendyandit'sfuckingeverywhere Ganni coat, a pair of leather trousers by Isabel Marant pour H&M thattookoveryourfacebooknewsfeedforthelastmonth, an Acne jumper thatissosoftandcufddlythatitcouldreplaceHamish and a pair of nuff'said Christian Louboutin pumps, ear cuffs by Maria Francesca Pepe and rings by ellisue.

Crater Staples

Earthy hues are my way of slowly accepting the fact that winter is just around the corner and I've busted out those two fall staples that accompanied me through last year's bitterly cold months: the Acne shearling jacket and the Isabel Marant boots that made a hole the size of a crater in my bank account. I always wonder where those items go that bloggers invest so much in and after a few months they disappear into the Narnia sized closets never to be seen again. Feel free to send them to me! I'll wear them for you. I'm sinfully behind my annual Glühwein consumption but I'm initiating the festive, drunken season with a swig of these berry hued babies that may hurt like a bitch but their Western inspired beauty is undeniable even in their second year running. A little sexy sock flashing never hurt nobody.

I am wearing an Acne jacket, a TK Maxx jumper, Isabel Marant pour H&M leather trousers and Isabel Marant boots.

The Regular Please

I found this Thai bomber jacket in a second hand store here in Berlin for a laughable 35 €. Nothing beats vintage shopping when you find unique pieces such as this one. What to some is a martini (shaken, not stirred) is to me the ethnic print jacket and when it comes in mouthwatering cotton candy tones, any preventative measures regarding purchase of said item are futile. Coupled with a midriff baring jumper (slightly outwith my comfort zone but what the hell) and a new pair of genius-meets-awkward Pollini boots that appear as if I've been hopping from one oil puddle into the next, this outfit has been recycled four times over.

I am wearing a vintage bomber jacket, an Acne jumper, an Anton Heunis necklace, Zara jeans and Pollini boots.

Modern Day Daisy Buchanan

Although it was my initial thought, a sidecut does not guarantee ear swag. In fact, it often borderline makes me look like a lesbian, which is why I tend to avoid earrings apart from my miniature ear cuffs that have become a firm fixture. In Cologne I came across an unbelievable selection of vintage and very feminine jewellery and took this Daisy Buchanan pair dating from the 40s home with me. A pair of wide-legged trousers that might offer enough fabric to go parachuting with were a fitting match, coupled with a cropped jumper that makes my torso look questionably short. Speaking of firm fixtures, this fluffy Zara vest is celebrating its comeback for the third year in a row and has even survived a minor attack from Lea's dog. Its fluffyness reamins undeterred.

I am wearing a vintage earring, an Acne jumper and trousers, a Zara vest and Alexander Wang loafers.

Paris Bound

While you're reading this I'm overdosing on the traditional and unexplainable airplane cocktail of tomato juice and 3 packets of pepper ony my way to Paris together with Lea, both of us suffering from serious sleep deprivation. I'll be attending some shows, meeting some bloggers and work related individuals as well as stocking up on macarons and sun in the city of love. I happily regressed back to bygone days of Pippi Longstocking and climbing trees when wearing my farmer dungarees coupled with kawaii lemons and sparkly toes. See you in Paris!

I am wearing an Acne jacket (similar here), vintage dungarees (similar here), an It's Ok My Dear blouse and Miu Miu trainers.
